Scholarships
CCEF administers the following scholarships to area high school seniors.

Adam Williams Memorial Scholarship
$500 (one time)
Applicant must be a college-bound senior from Cocke County of outstanding character, demonstrate compassion and leadership qualities, and maintain a 3.0 GPA in high school. The applicant must be a member of the CCHS Tennis Team. Should the tennis team be nonexistent, the applicant will be selected from the CCHS Soccer or Volleyball teams according to the same qualifications.

Carolyn R. Ramsey Scholarship
$1,000 (one time)
For a CCHS or CHS graduating senior. The recipient must be a child or grandchild of an employee of JCCUD. Applicant must enroll and attend a two-year/four-year institution or technical school in the Fall immediately following their high school graduation.

CCEF General Scholarship
$1,000 (one time)
Given to a CCHS or CHS student who demonstrates good academic standing, community involvement, and good moral character. This scholarship exemplifies a “well-rounded” student. Applicants must enroll and attend school in the Fall immediately following their high school graduation.

Cindie Jo Runnion Memorial Scholarship
$1,000 (one time)
The applicant must be a CCHS or CHS senior who attended Edgemont Elementary School and plans to study elementary education.

Clifton Club Scholarship
$1,000 (one time)
A general scholarship for a CCHS or CHS graduating senior in good standing and planning to attend either a two-year or four-year college or technical school in the Fall.

Cocke County Retired Teachers
$10,000 (multi-year total)
A multi-year scholarship for those who desire a profession in teaching. $1,000 for the first year, $2,000 the second year, $3,000 for the third year, and $4,000 for the fourth year: Total value: $10,000.

Debra Heard Lloyd Memorial Swim Scholarship
$500 (one time)
For a CCHS or CHS graduating senior planning to attend college in the Fall term after graduation. Preference will be given to a member of the Cocke County Swim Team.

$750 (one time)
For a CCHS or CHS senior seeking a music degree.

Eleanor Hickey Music Scholarship
$10,000 (multi-year)
For a CCHS or CHS graduation senior. Applicant must plan to either major or minor in some aspect of music using the scholarship for music education. The applicant’s music teacher must provide a letter of recommendation as a part of this application package. A recording of the applicant’s musical ability must also be provided. (The recording does not need to be professionally created.) $1,000 for the first year, $2,000 for the second year, $3,000 for the third year, and $4,000 for the fourth year: Total value: $10,000.

Emma Elizabeth Austin Memorial Scholarship
$1,000 (one time)
For a CCHS or CHS senior who has maintained a 2.0 unweighted GPA, demonstrates financial need, and plans to pursue a vocational/technical degree. Applicant must plan to attend the program beginning in the Fall term after graduation. Two scholarships will be awarded.

Applicant must be a CCHS senior who has maintained a 3.0 GPA and has demonstrated financial need.

A general scholarship given to a CCHS senior who demonstrates good academic standing, community involvement, and good moral character.

Jo Sykes Runnion Memorial Scholarship

The applicant must be a CCHS or CHS senior who plans to study nursing at the post-secondary level.

A general scholarship awarded to a senior in good standing and planning to attend either a two-year or four-year college or technical school in the Fall.

A general scholarship awarded to a senior in good standing and planning to attend either a two-year or four-year college or technical school in the Fall. Based on financial needs.

A general scholarship for a CCHS senior in honor of the former principal and long-time CCHS teacher and coach.

A general scholarship given to a senior in good standing and planning to attend either a two-year or four-year college or technical school in the Fall.

McKayne Ramsey Memorial Scholarship
$1,500 (one time)
For a CCHS senior athlete who will enroll and attend either a two-year or four-year college or technical school in the Fall.

Newport Federal Bank Employees/Directors Scholarship
$1,000 (one time)
Applicant (CCHS, CHS, private) must be graduating senior and resident of Cocke County. Applicant must plan on majoring in business or a business-related degree. A minimum 3.0 GPA is required. The applicant must plan to be a full-time student at a post-secondary college/university in the Fall following graduation. Preference will be given to a student who is a dependent of a current Newport Federal Bank employee, providing they meet the scholarship criteria.

For a CCHS or CHS graduating senior seeking a music-related degree (music education, performance, etc.)

Richard and Margaret Harwood Scholarship
$1,000 (one time)
Applicant must be a graduating senior (CCHS, CHS, or private) and resident of Cocke County. Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, plan to major in business or education, and be a full-time student at a post-secondary college/university in the Fall term following graduation. Preference will be given to an active member of the Boys and Girls Club of Cocke County (minimum two-year membership). [To show active membership, the applicant must submit a letter of recommendation from the B&G Club’s Unit Director as a part of this application package.] Two scholarships will be awarded.

Robin Conway Memorial Scholarship
$1,000 (one time)
A general scholarship for a senior in good standing. Applicant must attend a two-year or four-year college during the Fall term after graduation.

Scott McClure Memorial Scholarship
$500 (one time)
Applicant must be a CCHS senior, plan to attend a four-year college or university, demonstrate financial need (<$40,000 household income), maintained at least a 2.5 GPA, and demonstrated a commitment to public service. (This scholarship is named after a former CCHS educator and CLB commissioner in recognition of his integrity, commitment, and duty to his beloved alma mater, community, and country.)

Shan and Edna Bush Memorial Scholarship
$500 (one time)
Given to a CCHS or CHS senior who demonstrates good academic standing, community involvement, and good moral character. Applicant must plan to attend post-secondary education beginning in the Fall term after graduation.

Steve Ball Scholarship
$1,250 (multi year)
Given to a CCHS senior who demonstrates good academic standing, community involvement, and good moral character. Applicant must enroll and attend a two-year or four-year institution or technical school in the Fall immediately after graduation. $1,250/year for up to four years.

Dr. Jeff Foster Vision Source Scholarship
$500 (one time) – 2 available
General scholarship given to one CCHS and one CHS student who demonstrates good academic standing, community involvement, and good moral character. Students must plan to attend a post-secondary institution beginning in the Fall term after graduation.

Vondle Breeden Academic Scholarship
$1,000 (one time)
For a graduating senior (preference will first be given to a Cosby graduate). Candidate must intend to pursue at least a four-year degree in either engineering, business administration, or agriculture. Candidate must have maintained a minimum unweighted 3.0 GPA.

Wilbur West Memorial Scholarship
$1,000 (one time)
For a graduating senior from CCHS or CHS planning a career as a teacher or education-related field. Applicant must have maintained a minimum 2.5 GPA.

William Agee Memorial Scholarship
$1,000 (one time)
For a CCHS or CHS senior who is the child or grandchild of an employee (including bank director) working in any bank in Cocke County. Applicant must be accepted at a two-year or four-year accredited college or university. The scholarship will be awarded based on merit and financial need.

This application and the appropriate attachments must be submitted to the high school’s counseling office by the designated deadline to be considered for any monetary awards. Incomplete or late applications will be disqualified from consideration. Please supply complete answers to each application item, or answer “None” or “N/A” where appropriate.
